Mount Huangshan
Mount Huangshan – the Most Beautiful Mountain in the Eyes of the Chinese People.
Mount Huangshan is located in Huangshan City, Anhui Province in central China. Legend has it that the Emperor Huangdi(or Yellow Emperor), the first ancester of the Chinese nation, once cultivated his mind and prepared herbal medicine in the mountain, hence the name. Mount Huangshan has a circumference of 250 kilometers, of which 154 kilometers are picturesque, making Mount Huangshan one of the most famous scenic spots in China, as well as the world-renowned tourist attraction.

Summit are the three main peaks, with an elevation of over 1,841 meters. Spectacular rocks, odd-shaped pines, a sea of clouds and hot springs are known as the “four wonders” of Mount Huangshan. Xu Xiake, a famous geologist of the Ming Dynasty(1368-1644), once spoke highly of Mount Huangshan: “You won’t wish to visit any other mountains after seeing the five most important mountains in China; and you won’t wish to visit any other four most important mountains in China after returning from Mount Huangshan.” The saying has become a popular praise of Mount Huangshan among the Chinese people. Mount Huangshan enjoys a high popularity in China as well as in the world. Mount Huangshan has been included in the World Heritage List by the UNESCO.
