The Sun and Moon Lake is the biggest natural lake of Taiwan, China, which is also known as the Dragon Lake. It is located in middle Nantou County.  The northern part of the Lake is shaped like a Sun, and the Southern part is like a Moon, hence the name the Sun and Moon Lake. From a overlooking view, the lake which is surrounded by mountains, is like a pearl in Central Taiwan.

Between the sun and the moon, there is an island, which is a sacred place for the Shao people, so it’s not open to visitors, and only Shao people can land on the island for worship. Here, you can find beauty in everything, even the sky, because the sky is extreme blue and the clouds seem to be as soft as cotton, so you even want to fly high to the sky. From the lake, tier upon tier of countless peaks can be seen rising up into the sky. The nearby mountains appear dark with vegetation. The mountains that echo farther and farther away appear less and less distinct until they fade into the sky. You can choose to visit it at night to feel the natural beauty and to see the stars shining.
