21. Questions:Day trips from Houston Texas? Any suggestions on short day trips leaving from Houston Texas? We’ve already been to Galveston & Kemah…looking for something different. Thanks.

Answer:In about five weeks or so, a FANTASTIC day trip from Houston is to go to the Brenham/Chappell Hill area. The general area is Texas’ milkshed and is where Blue Bell, the largest icecream company in the state is located. You can take tours of the plant and get samples at the end of the tour. That is also bluebonnet country. Bluebonnets are the state flower of Texas. In the spring, those pastures up near Brenham look solid BLUE because they are covered with bluebonnets and they are GORGEOUS! Chappell Hill has some pretty scenery and I think they have an art festival or two during the spring. They also have some sausage plants near there. At least one of them offers tours with free samples. Washington-on-the-Brazos is near there. That is where Texas drew up her declaration of Independence in the 1830s. Some interesting history took place near there and is commemorated with a museum and the actual building where it took place. The area mentioned here is about half way between Houston and Austin. Take US 290 out of Houston. You can do it in a day or make a nice weekend out of it by taking advantage of one of Brenham’s lovely B&B. Check it out. I do not think you will be disappointed.

22. Questions:What is that place near Connecticut and M which just opened up and serves Turkish/Middle Eastern food?

Answer:It has doner, I think. Near Lucky Bar, Pasara Thai, Julia’s Empanadas, that place.

Is it good? Is it pricey? Is that Kababji Grill (1351 Connecticut Avenue NW)? Still too new, but some ratings

23. Questions:Is New York really inspiring? I’m from Dublin and have never seen a skyscraper before let alone an exciting skyline. Does New York really give you a positive energy and is the excitement described in films true ?

Answer:Hey there! Well I’m from Scotland and I’m 22. I moved here in august to go to art school. At first I hated it! It was too busy, too loud, people were really rude and arent as warm as the Scottish or Irish. but by the time December came id met friends and now i have a great time. id say its important to know people before you come , its a big city but its also very lonely. the skyscrapers are cool but they make you feel claustrophobic unless your standing from the outside looking in from say..a Brooklyn rooftop..then its magical. Is it inspiring? Yes! depending on what you come here for your going to find something thats for you! personally what i love here is the downtown area and brooklyn, the little surprises you find in the street , the people you encounter. people here are VERY motivated and are always trying to sell themselves in some way so the competition really helps keep you on track. Positive energy comes with time i think, once you have settled a bit and realized what you want from a huge place like this , things become easier and clearer. New York is a strange place but its worth the visit but id say if you want to really feel it come for 6 months at least. it takes a long time to adjust..
